The vignettes by Floridas version of Charles Kuralt got so popular WTVT re-packaged Larrys feature stories in four home video volumes. Sold as a special promotion at Blockbuster Video Stores, "Larry Elliston's Down Home Florida" videos were an instant hit, selling out nearly overnight. Im amazed," says Larry. "The Blockbuster near my house has been renting Volume 1 since 1989.

During his stay at Big 13, Larrys reports even got the attention of CBS News. His chronicles aired regularly on CBS News Nightwatch, sharing the screen with Kuralt and Charles Osgood.

Larry continued to address issues of the environment, and produced a steady stream of reports for Channel 13, designed to inform Floridians on the state of their state.
